So I got to thinking and decided to create a garden log for the garden. I realized that I was missing some key information that would help me plan and execute a better garden plan next year. The basic information that I decided to keep in my log is vegetable type planted (and where seed was purchased), number of plants, dated started indoors (if applicable), date planted outside, date harvesting began, date harvesting ended, whether I saved the seed, and any specific notes on the vegetable's progress (i.e. if it bolted after heat, if seed did not germinate, etc.) I really think that all this is key information that will help me plan next year's garden and what to anticipate and when. Any thoughts on other categories of information that I might include?
